Amadeus, Amadeus (2). Yesterday, on 15 July coincided with the press conference for this year's
Amadeus Awards the official start to the newly positioned, re-designed, Austrian music award. The first reactions to fall out very positive. The deliberately tried to integration, particularly the critics press, the Search dialogue with much more musical and theatrical groups than in the past - it all seems to bear fruit in its infancy.

The advocated diversity, the approach to the scenes, the valuing of artistic quality - all of which will take place and the organizing IFPI opened perhaps those learning process that ultimately ensures their survival (more on that later). Also, and just because 80% of the nominees perceived in the field of vibrant independent scene are clear.
The statue has a new, more modern, contemporary form. The website is quite befitting, provides information and a lot more meaningful content than their predecessors. Here, too, but fall to detail that is not quite in the spirit of what was communicated.
The voting. It is crystal clear that the most difficult task of repositioning is to involve the public in general. The interest so far has been on amadeus-ending, now has to explain to the audience that it should allowed to vote differently than before, yes to. remains incomprehensible to me anyway, the mode and its logic: A total of six weeks only begins the voting process. can be tuned once a week (!). Shall take place via e-mail addresses and IP addresses. First attempt: Two e-mail aliases used, made two voting. The manipulation experiments, of course, opens the door. The desire to draw as much traffic to itself, might therefore be possible to exercise diametrically opposite to the will, transparency and fairness. Small improvements to the site is also abound - just one example, instead of links to artist pages, opinion references, videos, download occasions (iTunes. ..) and clarified rights to full streams of the 30-second circumcision would be the least if one itself comes across as a future-oriented and webaffin.
SuperE The idea in itself, practical means of widgets to give everyone the opportunity to his blog, to be elected Web and Fansites happy, well above all the sponsor (which comes as everywhere) and the tech-savvy audience. Again, I hope that the effects are positive, the width of fitness will thus be in spite of integration of communication channels from today (Facebook, MySpace et al) probably not yet reached. What is missing this nature is a heavyweight media, teeming many potential people from the target groups.
dilemma And here we come to a potential nuclear problem of the "well intentioned" Amadeus 2009: The scene involvement runs the risk of working on the "broad" public completely over and the Price certainly have to sink into insignificance. And why? Because it has no Austrian stars, with which they could make an identification. However, this so far has been the problem of the awards. Christina Stürmer the only real star is completely missing in the list of nominees, which will be taken depending on the respondent with incomprehension and amusement note.
Still, the move was necessary and perhaps the only correct one. The courage to take, the scenes in the public require, but in spite of all the Web 2.0 applications a media landscape that reproduced it.
Amadeus had in ten years I have never so much head-nodding nominations in the "pop" subject (and others) appreciated. It would be nice if the dominant media in this country would see the same houses and play, give the Amadeus the chance and time to gain real relevance. The result is at least to some extent also entstehbare international repute is the only slide, from the "Land of Music Austria" in fact make such a return. To be continued.
