(update below ...) After the
PAGE Boulevarblatt here has taken a few days ago policyholders under suspicion, was now (late January 2006) and the Galileo Pro 7 at an appropriate contribution.
basic tenor of the two contributions:
- the insurance industry each year by 4 billion € cheated
- one in four policyholders has ever insurance cheated
- every tenth car accident is faked to the insurance cheat
following questions it occurred to me:
- For Auto Insurance has itself become an innocent man almost always a part of the blame, and hence into a higher assurance level - this is already cheating on the insured?
- Will GDV only prepare once again for its members with the next round of price increases?
- Why does not point out that, according to estimates made by the GDV the willingness of policyholders directly related to the dissatisfaction with the insurance, and there is also a trend away from "national sport insurance fraud" is the way to gang-organized fraud (who is nothing to do with the average policyholder has to do)? Source: Police Newsletter No. 65, June 2004 Interesting
The police crime statistics for last year only 8876 proceedings for fraud against an insurance and insurance fraud (see box). This represents about one percent of all fraud procedures. Similar procedures were many there to rape and sexual assault (8615) - but that's why no one would get the idea to speak of the "national sport rape".
and further
Despite the lack of evidence of the alleged mass Fraud being driven by insurers preceded the data collection of suspicious customers. "Uniwagnis" is the hint system, used since the mid-nineties. More than three million records are stored according to the information at present. Only after five years, entries are deleted.
This system was also reported by Galileo. There it was said, would the insurance fraud suspects encrypted Date to be adjusted later by other insurers. What is silent Galileo:
How Uniwagnis, the Association of Insurers said this: "If there is certain criteria that vary by division, be notified by the reporting insurance company name and address of the GDV. "As experts admit anonymous for the claims department of individual insurers, suspicion criteria can include an accident on a lonely country road, nationality or age. They hang together so that, for example, fake car accidents more certain nationalities to be involved.
Aha. So it generally suspected a kind. Although the procedure itself matched with the data protection officer (whether but also single-line, such as GNP. venture based on nationality, I doubt), the proportionality but in my opinion is still not satisfied:
do with hard facts, the insurance industry even in difficult Uniwagnis. The success was "not measurable in numbers," they say. The exchange of information between the office staff but will evaluate "as important". There go the rest "equally well to exclude the presence of suspected fraud.
"At least that seems to be successful," Frank Brown scoffs federally insured. "If coming out with so much high tech as little concrete process which reinforces the argument that the industry exaggerates shamelessly."
Brown is nevertheless committed itself to focus attention on the fraud in the insurance industry - but from the other side, the fraud to the detriment of policyholders. A spectacular presentation at the Scientific Conference of the insured held to recent federal law professor Felix Duke of Berlin's Humboldt University. The "limits and possibilities of criminal consumer protection" resulted from Duke, a nonsense life insurance in the individual case may well be seen as fraud by the broker.
Hmmm ... Any questions?
Update 2/14/2007: Apparently, Galileo has once again dusted off the old post (at least in part) - today was again reported on the national sport insurance fraud. It came again the same examples (a supposedly fake rear-end collision and a broken mobile phone when I recall correctly). What is new is that not even a ...
