Until just now I was diplomatic, reserved and cautious about the "Indie Festival Project" concerns. But now I feel impelled to make a statement on this. The festival, for 1 August in the Ottakringer brewery had stated, because of acute lack of funds (the engineering firm could not be paid) in the middle - be stopped - against 23 clock. Some bands had to then go home empty-handed as well as the (few) paying guests.

A German student in Vienna announced a "completely new kind of festival for 10,000 visitors in the brewery Ottakringer, as headliners are Kings Of Leon and Phoenix promised. These acts are committed Austrian. Not surprisingly, turn out to the international guests quickly as soap bubbles - but at least the talk of the town festival.
Görbert Peter was previously not even noticed as the organizer of a birthday celebration, he was euphoric and drauflosgewerkt naive and disregard of all rules of business for lack of knowledge simply. What he obviously lacked was scene bond, note the organizational, infrastructural and other for handling such an event necessary things - well, one should deny anyone his chances. And finally, his reference was just a waiter work in Munich's P1.
The festival is still busy with pomp and fanfare advertised on gotv and other platforms. He stressed there is optimism in the run - and gives the Report obligatory ticket three weeks before the event in 1200 sold tickets. Even on the day before the event, he speaks proudly of the "surprising progress of ticket sales" and that 1700 tickets were sold. The astonishment on our part that are accompanied by factors such as that agreed for Advanced fee fees of the bands still either incomplete or not at all. Attempts to elicit the reasons to do so (misdirected payments will be so happened already) fail, just stay out of promised payment confirmations.

So. Facts:
despite contracts were made out in the evening and written assurances to this day NO made of the outstanding payments. It met no money or transfer confirmations from a Peter Görbert. It was brought to a paying audience performances by Junior Boys and other (pre-sale 22, box office 13 €!) - And not compensated for it. It was announced by 2 beer and € 3.60 to € served. It has been consistently poor gossip for the music scene and its location in Vienna created.
I am involved in music events for 14 years and got to experience much, can and must - the "Indie Project" will probably remain so as the longer term, the most notable event in a negative interpretation.
Görbert like Peter as inexperienced operators, have been blue-eyed and naive - that one could forgive him and look, but now we are talking about nothing less than cheating - of bands, audience, such as technology suppliers and catering companies and agencies. He had his fair chance to trust him again but massively abused. Before further Try romp in the event management (he speaks of a renewed attempt Festival 2010) one must therefore all potential partners and advise against all himself.
